Sea buckthorn is one of the most popular medicinal plants, which is used in almost all areas of traditional and traditional medicine. On the basis of this berry, many medicines are produced that are intended to combat purulent-inflammatory diseases, malignant tumors, and vascular pathology. Candles with sea buckthorn from hemorrhoids and suppositories intended for the treatment of gynecological diseases were widely used.

Application area

Due to its good regenerative properties, sea buckthorn suppositories are used in the following pathological processes:

  • rectal fissures;
  • anal fissures;
  • inflammation of the anus;
  • ulceration;
  • erosion;
  • long-term non-healing traumatic defects;
  • inflammatory diseases of the external genitalia in women.

All of the above applies to the field of proctology and gynecology. In other cases, treatment using candles is not reasonable. They should be replaced with sea buckthorn oil or other dosage forms that are most suitable for the treatment of each specific disease.

Types and composition of candles

The composition of sea buckthorn candles includes:

  • sunflower oil;
  • concentrated sea buckthorn oil;
  • fatty base (vitepsol);
  • glycerol or glycerol monohydrate.

There are vaginal and rectal form of this dosage form. Rectal suppositories with sea buckthorn have the shape of a smooth cone. Vaginal suppositories can be made in the form of a sphere, be flat or ovoid. The composition of the drug does not differ depending on the scope of the dosage form.Rectal suppositories can be replaced by vaginal suppositories and vice versa.

It is worth noting that the differences in the form of rectal and vaginal forms are of functional importance. Therefore, when replacing one variety of candles with another, the patient may experience some discomfort until the medicine is completely melted.

Note: Vitepsol, which serves as the oily base of suppositories, quickly melts under the influence of the heat of the human body and begins to flow out. Therefore, when using both types of candles, it is recommended to use a sanitary pad.

Indications

Both in gynecology and proctology, candles with sea buckthorn are prescribed for the treatment of specialized diseases.

In proctology

  • injuries of the anus and rectum.

The use of suppositories allows not only to accelerate healing by local use of sea buckthorn oil, but also to saturate the patient's body with vitamins due to the systemic absorption of the suppository components through the hemorrhoidal vessels system. This moment contributes to the activation of the patient's immune resources. Thus, suppositories indirectly affect the healing rate of inflammatory processes.

Vaginal suppositories with sea buckthorn are used in the presence of the following diseases:

  • colpitis;
  • cervicitis;
  • vulvovaginitis;

Such suppositories are indicated for spilled inflammation of the vagina. If necessary, they can also be used as a contraceptive, however, the risk of an unwanted pregnancy will remain at a fairly high level.

Instructions for the use of candles with sea buckthorn

Instructions for the use of suppositories with sea buckthorn in the treatment of gynecological and proctological diseases are somewhat different.

In proctology

In proctology, suppositories are used to treat hemorrhoids and other diseases associated with a violation of the integrity of the intestinal mucosa and anus. Suppositories are injected deep into the lower intestine, having previously emptied it with an enema or naturally.

After the introduction of the suppository, it is recommended to take a lying position in order to reduce the flow of the drug. The candle is completely melted and absorbed within one hour. After this, hygiene procedures should be carried out, removing the elements of the medicine that has fallen on it from the skin.

For children from 6 to 14 years old, suppositories are administered 1 time per day. The adult dosage used for patients over 14 years of age is 2 suppositories per day. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and usually does not exceed 10-15 days. Repeatedly, suppositories can be prescribed no earlier than after 4-6 weeks.

In gynecology

Before the introduction of the suppository, a woman should wash her hands and soap thoroughly. If the doctor has prescribed douching with antiseptic solutions, you should do this before using a suppository. The candle itself must be removed from the package and inserted deep into the vagina. This can be done with a finger or a special applicator.

After the medicine is inside, it is recommended to lie down for 30-60 minutes. This will avoid leakage of funds. In order not to stain clothes and bed, use a sanitary pad.

The course of treatment with suppositories averages 2 weeks. 2 candles are used per day, morning and evening. Suppositories with sea buckthorn in gynecology can be used as an independent treatment only in the initial stages of the disease. In severe cases, sea buckthorn is an adjuvant that is used as part of complex therapy.

Contraindications

According to the official instructions, the “contraindications” item for sea buckthorn suppositories includes only individual intolerance to the components of the product and allergic reactions to it in the past. As a rule, sea buckthorn does not cause serious allergies (anaphylactic shock, angioedema of the respiratory tract). However, after its use, urticaria, local swelling of the rectal mucosa, and itching may occur.

Note: after administration of suppositories, the patient may experience a slight burning sensation. It is caused by the ingress of medication to microcracks in the mucosa and is not a contraindication to use. The introduction of suppositories should be discarded only if the burning sensation is of high intensity and causes significant discomfort to the patient.

Sea-buckthorn candles are an excellent wound healing, regenerating and anti-inflammatory herbal remedy. Its effectiveness is evidenced by the fact that sea buckthorn is recognized as official medicine and is part of the planned treatment of many diseases. It should be borne in mind that monotherapy with sea buckthorn and its derivatives is possible only in the initial stages of the disease. Launched processes cannot be treated with herbal remedies and require the use of more effective drugs.

Reviews

During the existence of sea buckthorn candles, they managed to take advantage of many people experiencing certain problems in the gynecological or proctological direction. The vast majority of them note the effectiveness and efficiency of the components of sea buckthorn with hemorrhoids, inflammation, and injuries.

Irina, 50 years old, gynecologist

The vast majority of my patients seeking help have some kind of inflammatory disease. Earlier, I did not trust the herbal remedies that my colleagues preferred to use. However, at a certain point, the accumulated experience required me to study the possibilities of sea buckthorn. I began to prescribe sick candles with this plant.

I was surprised that sea-buckthorn suppositories with vaginitis, cervicitis and other inflammations of moderate and low severity were not much inferior in effectiveness to chemical preparations. Patients noted a marked improvement after 5-10 days of using suppositories. Unfortunately, it is impossible to treat severe processes with candles alone. However, even in this case, one should not refuse to use them. Sea buckthorn oil contained in the dosage form significantly reduces the time required for recovery.

To date, I completely abandoned my old principles, which required treating patients only with the use of highly effective chemicals. Now I prescribe herbal medicines in all cases when it can benefit the patient.

Vasily, 65 years old, pensioner

I came across hemorrhoids in my early youth when I worked at a construction site. Here I had to constantly work in the cold, damp, lift weights. All this could not but affect the state of my health. Therefore, by the age of 40, I managed to try out a lot of funds for the treatment of hemorrhoids. Unfortunately, a few of them turned out to be effective.

I was advised to use a sea buckthorn oil by a neighbor who is well versed in alternative methods of treatment. However, to use it in its pure form was extremely inconvenient. Therefore, I bought candles in the pharmacy, which include this oil, and began to use them.

A marked improvement was noted already a week and a half after the start of therapy. To confirm his findings, I went to the doctor, who also noted a decrease in hemorrhoids and signs of the inflammatory process. According to the doctor, many patients use sea buckthorn. The tool is quite cheap and effective. In addition, candles do not have side effects, the description of which sometimes takes a whole page for chemicals.

To date, I have already passed two planned courses of treatment lasting 2 weeks. In between, I did not experience pain and discomfort in the area of the anus. Hemorrhoidal nodes are not inflamed, as it was before. In the future I plan to continue preventive treatment with sea buckthorn suppositories. I hope they will be a great way to prevent my illness.

Svetlana, 30 years old, designer

Not so long ago I had to use sea buckthorn suppositories to treat birth breaks. Of course, the injury was sewn back in the delivery room. However, apparently, an infection got into the wound, after which inflammation developed. My condition was pretty bad. Doctors prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and douching with antiseptic solutions. However, recovery was slow.

Once my doctor approached me and advised me to buy candles with sea buckthorn. I was surprised that experts advise using cheap drugs from the category of traditional medicine. However, the doctor explained that suppositories, due to the huge amount of useful substances included in sea buckthorn oil, have a pronounced healing effect, stimulate local immunity, and actively fight inflammation. I decided to try it.

I inserted candles two to three times a day for a week. During this time, the specialists who examined me noted a significant improvement in the condition of the seam. The inflammatory process quickly passed, the mucous membrane returned to normal. At the same time, my general well-being improved. Before applying candles, my temperature often rose, I felt overwhelmed and powerless. After a week-long course of treatment with sea buckthorn, such phenomena became rare.

In general, I understand that the result that was achieved is the achievement of complex therapy, and not just the action of suppositories. However, it was after the start of their application that I quickly started recovering.
