Turkish delight dessert appeared in the confectionery industry thanks to the Ottoman Sultan of the 18th century. Turkish Turkish delight, created by the cook of the Sultan, consisted of only three components.

Ready syrup should be quickly poured into a mold, the surface should be leveled with a spatula. When the dessert has completely hardened, cut the layer into cubes and roll in icing sugar or coconut. The dessert is ready.
How to cook from pumpkin?
It is extremely rare to call dessert a healthy dish.
But Turkish delight with pumpkin is an exception and a lifesaver for mothers with sweet tooth babies:
- 0.4 kg of sugar;
- pumpkin pulp - 200 g;
- starch - 2 glasses .;
- ½ lemon juice;
- water.
We divide the pulp of pumpkin into small pieces. To prepare the syrup, it is necessary to introduce sugar in 100 ml of water, boil. We spread pumpkin slices in syrup, continue to cook the mass on low heat. The pumpkin will be ready when its structure becomes soft. Leave it in syrup until it cools. Grind the pumpkin and syrup with a blender until smooth. In the resulting puree we introduce the lemon product. Mix well. We dissolve starch in one and a half glasses of water. Once again, bring the pumpkin puree to a boil, pour the diluted starch. After a few minutes, turn off the stove, let cool. The mixture is poured into the mold, left in the cold. After 4 hours, the dessert will be ready. Divide the layer into the usual pieces, cover with powder.
Important! The form for Turkish delight must be prepared in advance - sprinkled with powdered sugar, lined with parchment, or oiled. Without fulfilling this condition, it will be problematic to extract the delicacy from the form.
Turkish delight with pistachios
Variety of Turkish delight can be added to the recipe of various nuts, for example, pistachios.
So we need:
- ¼ l of water;
- 0.3 kg of pistachios;
- starch - 200 g;
- 450 g of sugar;
- 60 g of powdered sugar;
- lemon juice - 15 g.
In a saucepan, boil water, add sugar, juice. We dilute starch in a small amount of water, stirring constantly, gradually pour into syrup. Grind the pistachios to the state of large crumbs. Sprinkle the bottom of the form with half chopped pistachios. Fill with syrup, smooth the surface, and pour the second half of the pistachios. Cut cooled Turkish delight into small pieces and roll in powder.
With strawberry
Turkish delight with strawberries has a pink tint, delicate taste and contains many useful vitamins.
To make a dessert you need products:
- strawberries - 200 g (fresh or frozen are used);
- gelatin - 15 g;
- powder - 150 g;
- 0.5 lemons.
In a blender, grind the strawberries in mashed potatoes. Add gelatin and leave for half an hour to make it swell. Add the icing sugar to the strawberry mass (leave a little for powder) and lemon juice. Knead everything well and heat over low heat until the gelatin is completely dissolved, preventing it from boiling. Set the strawberry paste to cool completely. Using a mixer or blender, beat the mass for 5 minutes. We fill in the mass with the form lined with parchment and send it to the cold for 5 hours. Divide the layer into cubes, sprinkle with powder.
Traditional Turkish Delight
Turkish delight is customarily prepared in an hour.
To do this, we need the composition of the products:
- water - 2 glasses .;
- 0.1 kg of a mixture of nuts;
- sugar - 1 cup .;
- ½ stack. starch;
- ¼ stack. powders of sugar and starch for sprinkling;
- lemon juice - 2 tables. tablespoons (can be replaced with citric acid - ½ teaspoon);
- food coloring - a pinch;
- flavoring.
Peel the nuts, lightly fry. In a stewpan, prepare sugar syrup, ½ stack. water, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Cook until a drop of syrup dipped in cold water begins to turn into a solid ball.
Mix the starch with the rest of the water and introduce the 2nd spoon of juice. Boil the starch until it becomes thick (20 minutes). Pour syrup into starch and mix well until smooth, cook for about 20 minutes. At the end we introduce flavoring, coloring, nuts. It is not necessary to chop nuts, a whole hazelnut in each tidbit will look more impressive. Pour still hot mixture into the tray, send it to the cold for 6 hours. Cut into pieces and sprinkle with a mixture of starch and powder.
With chocolate
Everyone loves chocolate and can successfully use it when cooking Turkish delight at home:
- bar of dark chocolate (about 100 g);
- squirrels of 2 eggs;
- 125 g of starch;
- milk powder - 75 g;
- 1 kg of sugar;
- icing sugar;
- juice of 1 lemon.
Beat the whites with a blender until foamy. Dilute milk powder with one and a half glasses of water. Pour in lemon juice, pour grated chocolate and sugar. Mix well and inject whipped proteins. Bring the mass to a boil. Dilute starch in 3 tablespoons of water, add to the main mixture. We leave the thickened mass in the form to solidify. Cut into pieces, sprinkle with powder.
Turkish delight at home
Turkish delight is prepared simply and in a short time.
We will need:
- 4 apples
- 120 g of corn starch;
- walnuts (kernels) - 50 g;
- 50 g cane sugar;
- coconut flakes (to taste);
- water.
Apples must be peeled, core removed. Pour a little water into a saucepan with thick walls, pour cane sugar and put on a slow fire. Dip the apple slices into the syrup, boil a little. Grind nuts to a large crumb and send to apples. Next, we introduce starch, diluted in water, and boil a little more. The bottom of the form is covered with parchment, film (food), foil. With vanilla
For a dessert with vanilla flavor, prepare a list of products:
- water - 1 glass .;
- 1 stack sand sugar;
- 1 stack powder
- 1 stack starch;
- a pinch of vanilla, citric acid.
We prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar, add starch. When the syrup is almost ready, add vanilla and lemon. Pour the slightly cooled mixture into molds sprinkled with powdered sugar. After 4 hours, pieces of the delicacy roll in powder on all sides. To add color, you can add some natural juice and a little gelatin to the syrup for the density.
Almond Turkish Delight
Almonds are very useful for diabetes and intestinal infectious diseases. It is also a wonderful prophylactic against cancer.
Prepare almond Turkish delight.
- sugar and starch - 3 glasses each .;
- 6 stack water;
- ½ powdered sugar;
- almonds - ½ stack.
We divide almond kernels into two slices. We dilute starch in 3 glasses of water and mix until the lumps disappear. From the remaining amount of sugar and water we prepare the syrup - bring to a boil without ceasing to mix. When foam is formed, it must be removed. Pour the starch into the syrup, pour almond slices. Mix everything until the mixture thickens. The resulting mixture is evenly distributed in silicone form or baking sheet with high sides. The bottom of the mold should be lined with parchment, or sprinkled with powdered sugar. When the treat completely hardens, cut into portions, dip in icing sugar and enjoy.
Original rice recipe
Turkish delight rice has a slightly higher calorie content, but at the same time it is not inferior in taste.
The recipe consists of the following ingredients:
- 3 stack Sahara;
- 1 liter of water;
- incomplete glass of rice;
- a glass of powdered sugar;
- orange juice - 1 cup.
Washed rice cook until tender. From orange juice and sugar we prepare sweet syrup.Rice must be wiped through a fine sieve and added to the syrup. The mixture will be ready when it begins to freely move away from the walls of the vessel. Put a slightly cooled delicacy in a tray and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Full solidification will occur in about a day.
Pink - with raspberries
Raspberry Turkish delight is one of the Turkish traditional delicacies, and berries or syrup are used for its preparation:

- zest of 1 orange / lemon;
- starch - ½ cup .;
- a few drops of aromatic oil (citrus);
- for powder - 5 table. l powders.
First, prepare a starch solution - we dilute starch in a glass of water until the lumps disappear. Pour a second glass of water into the pan, pour sugar in - boil, cook for 20 minutes. Pour the starch into the boiling syrup, set the fire intensity to the minimum mode, and introduce the citrus zest. We continue to cook the mixture, constantly stirring with a wooden spoon / spatula until thickened. Lastly, add citrus oil. Pour the resulting mixture into a mold. A baking sheet or shape can also be covered with parchment paper. The surface of the thick mixture must be leveled with a spatula. After a couple of hours, the dessert will completely thicken. Cut into cubes of the required size and sprinkle with powder.
Carrot
One of the traditional Turkish variations of Turkish delight is considered a geserier with carrots.
Products:
- ½ stack. Sahara;
- 400 g carrots;
- salt;
- lemon / orange zest - 1 teaspoon each. l .;
- coconut flakes - 100 g;
- corn starch - 150 g;
- walnuts - ½ stack.
Grind carrots in mashed potatoes on a fine grater. Add 3 tablespoons of water and send the vegetable component in a container to the stove. Set the slow heat. In small portions we introduce sugar and salt. Continuing to stir the carrots, bring it to a boil. Boil for about 20 minutes. Grated zest of citrus fruits add to carrots. Starch is mixed in 50 g of water and gradually poured into carrots. Stirring, cook for 5 minutes. Pour large nuts into the already thickened carrots. Pour the mixture into the mold, a layer of about 3 cm should be obtained. Leave for 10-12 hours in the cold. Turkish delight, pre-sliced, roll in chips or powder.
