While most adults are trying to equip their lives, realized in the profession or parenthood, Madeline Dressel and her husband Malachi look at the world differently. They decided to open an Instagram page where they share their lives ... with plastic children.
Together with the couple, a collection of thirty plastic dolls "lives". They dress them and take photos with them - as if they were their children.
The couple's motto is simple - “Plastic kids are perfect kids. Always obedient, always photogenic. Long live the absurd! ”
Madeline talks about her decision to “have” plastic children: “We both thought it would be great to imagine my dolls in real conditions. After all, hundreds of family photos catch your eye everywhere. Why dolls are not a family? With this account, Malach and I simultaneously answer all curious people the question of when we will have children. ”
“Initially, we wanted to make parodies of family photos, however, over time, our work took on its own artistic form. We began to recreate old productions from the family life of past generations, ”adds Malach.
Madeline and Malachi have been living together for four years. And they were always keen on vintage things both. Madeline especially loved dolls in her youth. From an early age, she collected vintage "girlfriends." Madeline has 75 outdated Barbies in her collection.
As for dolls the size of real babies, the couple began collecting them in 2016. Then Madeline and Malachi first found a doll of the 50s in one of the vintage stores.Of the thirty dolls, seven are named after human names: Cirocco, Polly-Marie, Baker, Sarah, Stella, Sandy and Thomas.
Do you think such a hobby is acceptable? Does it answer the shameless question of why the couple does not want to have children? Or is nothing replacing a real child? Tell us in the comments.
