Pie with potatoes and chicken is suitable not only for a snack with tea, but is also quite capable of replacing a full dinner. You can cook such pastries from yeast, yeast or puff pastry, and add greens, various vegetables and seasonings to the filling.

A pie cake made from yeast-free dough is a dish that even an inexperienced housewife can handle.

For work you will need:

  • 650-700 g boneless chicken;
  • 3 potato tubers;
  • several large onions;
  • 200 g margarine;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 100 ml of fresh or acidified milk;
  • 500-650 g of flour;
  • salt and black pepper.

Operating procedure:

  1. Boil chicken, chop, mix with salt, pepper and onion stewed in oil.
  2. Boil the potatoes and mashed them using a blender, and then combine the components of the filling and leave to cool.
  3. Pour milk into a bowl, introduce 2 eggs, add melted margarine and salt, beat well with a whisk.
  4. Add the flour in small portions and knead the base so that it does not stick to the hands.
  5. Separate a third of the dough and set aside, roll out the remaining mass and place in a greased refractory dish so that the edges slightly sag out.
  6. Put the filling inside the cake and cover it with the rest of the dough, after rolling it thinly.
  7. Cut the hanging edges with a knife or walk along the perimeter of the form with a rolling pin, slightly pressing on the dough to separate.
  8. Beat the egg and grease the pie with a cooking brush or a rolled up napkin. Then the surface of the dish will gain a glossy sheen.
  9. Send the container to the oven and bake the chicken pot until cooked.

On a note. Some housewives prefer not to cook mashed potatoes, but to cut tubers boiled in their uniform into cubes.

Oven with potato and chicken pie

Gentle and airy will turn out a pie with potatoes and chicken, if you cook it from yeast dough. You can take a dry composition or pressed yeast.

For work you will need:

  • 200 ml of milk;
  • 3 eggs;
  • 10 g of sugar;
  • 700 g flour;
  • 30 ml of refined oil;
  • 500 g of chicken;
  • 300 g of potatoes;
  • several onions;
  • 2-3 carrots;
  • salt and seasoning.

Sequencing:

  1. Heat milk and pour yeast into it, mix thoroughly. When the foam appears on the surface, the dough will be ready for use.
  2. Beat 2 eggs with sugar and salt, and then add dough, vegetable fat and stir until smooth.
  3. Add flour in small portions to the dough. If it sticks a little to the palms - it’s not scary when the base comes up, it will need to be thoroughly kneaded.
  4. Place the dough in a container with a lid, wrap and leave to fit. It will take about one and a half to two hours.
  5. While the dough is coming, prepare the filler. Cook chicken and potatoes, cool and scroll in a meat grinder.
  6. Grind onions and carrots, mix them in vegetable fat, and then mix with mashed potato and meat, season with salt and spices.
  7. Knead the dough and divide into two unequal parts. Roll out the largest of them and lay them on the bottom of a greased container so that the edges hang down.
  8. Fill the pie with filling, roll out a smaller part of the dough and cover it with the dish.
  9. Remove excess dough, coat the cake with a beaten egg, pierce in several places with a fork and put to bake.

Tip. You can make the filling taste brighter by adding garlic and any greens.

Open pies with a “lattice” of dough strips on top look beautiful. And so that the chicken does not dry out during the baking process, you should use a fill of eggs and sour cream.

To make such a dish, you will need:

  • 180 g butter;
  • 450 g of flour;
  • glass of water;
  • salt;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 100 g of sour cream;
  • several potatoes;
  • chicken;
  • onion;
  • a bunch of greenery;
  • seasonings.

Operating procedure:

  1. Cut softened butter into pieces, add salt and flour, grind the mixture to a crumb state.
  2. Pour water into the resulting mass and knead the cool dough, roll it into a ball and put in the refrigerator.
  3. Boil chicken and potatoes, cool and pass through a meat grinder, and then mix with spices, herbs and fried onions, not forgetting to salt.
  4. Prepare a fill of eggs and sour cream, adding your favorite seasonings.
  5. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, set aside a small part of it, and roll out the rest and place in a deep greased form, covering not only the bottom, but also the sides.
  6. Fill the pie with filling, top with egg-sour cream sauce and decorate with a wire rack from the remaining dough, cut into strips or rolled up with "sausages", and then bake.

Attention! When the cake is ready, do not take it out of the mold hot, otherwise it may fall apart.

It is better to wait until the baking has cooled, divide it into pieces, and only then remove from the container.

Layered cake

Layer cake with potatoes and chicken will turn out friable and tender, and will surely appeal to home and guests. And to facilitate the process, it is better to purchase a ready-made dough.

To work, you will need:

  • 500 g puff yeast-free base;
  • 400 g chicken;
  • several potatoes;
  • onion;
  • garlic;
  • greenery;
  • 30 g sour cream;
  • egg;
  • salt and seasoning;
  • sesame seeds.

Work sequence:

  1. Remove the dough from the packaging and place it on a tray to defrost.
  2. Boil chicken and potatoes in their skins, cool and pass through a meat grinder with onions, garlic and herbs, mix the filling with salt, seasonings and sour cream.
  3. Divide the base into two parts, roll out the first and place it in the form, laying down the tracing paper for baking. Put filler on top and cover with a second layer of dough.
  4. Make cuts at the top of the pie with a knife diagonally and place in the oven.
  5. 10-15 minutes before taking out the baking, grease the cake with the egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and put the bake again.

Attention! When baking puff pastries, it is important not to overdry the base; in the finished form, this dough has a pale golden color.

Jellied pie with potatoes and chicken

Jellied pie with potatoes and chicken is a pastry that can be cooked quickly and without much effort.

For work, you will need:

  • 220-250 ml of kefir;
  • 300 g flour;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 50-70 g of mayonnaise;
  • chicken;
  • several potato tubers;
  • green onion feathers;
  • salt.

Operating procedure:

  1. Cook the chicken and potatoes in their skins, cut the meat into strips, and grate the tubers, add salt and green onion, mix.
  2. Break eggs into a bowl, add kefir, add mayonnaise, salt and seasonings, beat with a whisk.
  3. Pour flour in small portions and mix the liquid mass until the lumps disappear.
  4. Put half of the dough in a greased baking dish, carefully place the filler on top and pour the remaining base, then send to the oven.

You can lay the components in another sequence by placing the filling on the bottom and pouring it with batter, or you can do the opposite when the base is below and the filler is on top.

Mushroom Pie

A rare person does not like mushrooms, and therefore you can safely add to them the filling of the pie with potatoes and chicken.

For work you will need:

  • 150 g sour cream;
  • a pack of margarine;
  • egg;
  • 10 g of sugar;
  • 15-20 g of baking powder;
  • 600 g flour;
  • fresh mushrooms;
  • chicken;
  • potatoes;
  • onion;
  • salt and seasoning.

Cooking sequence:

  1. Melt the margarine and combine it in a deep bowl with sugar, sour cream, baking powder, egg and salt. Stir until smooth.
  2. Pour flour into the mixture, knead the dough and leave to approach.
  3. Boil chicken and potatoes, chop, mix with mushrooms, fried with onions, season with salt and seasonings.
  4. Roll out half of the dough and lay in a greased form, spread the filler on top and cover with the remaining base.
  5. Grease the top of the pie with an egg and put the dish in the oven.

Tip. To make the filling more juicy, you can add a few spoons of fat sour cream to it.

Cooking in a slow cooker

You can cook pies with different fillings and in a slow cooker, but this will require a more liquid dough.

In the process of work will be needed:

  • 300 ml of kefir;
  • 15 g of compressed yeast;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 10 g of sugar;
  • 5 g of soda;
  • flour;
  • chicken;
  • potato tubers;
  • onion;
  • salt and seasoning.

Cooking process:

  1. Heat the milk, put the yeast in it and leave for a quarter of an hour until a froth appears.
  2. Mix the dough with eggs, kefir, sugar and soda, add flour so that the base resembles dough for fritters. Leave to come.
  3. Strip the chicken into strips, grate the potatoes, chop the onions and fry everything in the multicooker bowl, adding salt and spices.
  4. Pour the filling with batter, set the baking mode and cook the cake for 35-40 minutes.

If there is no yeast in the house, you can make a dough based on eggs, kefir and flour. In this case, the cake will be less magnificent, but it will turn out delicious anyway.
