The human body needs a lot of substances for full and healthy functioning. One of the most important substances is vitamin B, which improves the conductivity of nerve impulses. The best complex of B vitamins is Milgamma, the indications for use of which allow it to be used for any neurological pathologies.

The composition of the drug
Milgamma is a medicine in dragees and solution for injection, containing vitamins B1, B6 and B12.
Milgamma Compositum solution in every 2 ml contains:
- main active ingredients: thiamine and pyridoxine in liquid form (100 mg each), cyanocobalamin (1 mg) and lidocaine (20 mg);
- excipients: alcohol, sodium polyphosphate, potassium and sodium.
Dragee and contains substances similar in action:
- active ingredients: benfotiamine and pyridoxine hydrochloride;
- additional components: cellulose, silicon dioxide, talc and sucrose with starch for the shell.
The drug accelerates metabolism and protects nerve cells from pathogenic processes, and also has an analgesic effect.
Pyridoxine accelerates the metabolism in tissues, and also improves the conductivity of pulses between nerve endings. Milgamma injections are much more preferable to use as a therapy for inflammation, since due to the instant introduction of the drug into the bloodstream, its effectiveness increases, and the risk of negative effects of elements of the digestive process decreases.
Thiamine (B1 or benfotiamine) affects the rate of conversion of carbohydrates and provides tissues and cells with sufficient energy for functioning. Lidocaine acts as an anesthetic and reduces the pain that is inherent in all neuralgia. It also helps restore motor function.
Milgamma Compositum tablets are sold in standard plastic blisters of 15 pieces each, and injections are in dark glass ampoules. Each package of medicine contains paper instructions for use.
Indications for the use of injections and tablets Milgamma
Milgamma is used for various pathologies in which the body conducts impulses between nerve endings in tissues - neurology. They are characterized by inflammation, which are accompanied by severe pain.
Milgamma is used for the following ailments:
- neuralgia and neuropathy;
- neuritis;
- paresis of the facial nerve;
- ganglionitis;
- plexopathy;
- polyneuropathy;
- cramps
- neurology with salt deposition.
The medicine generally affects the nervous system and is targeted, increasing the conductivity of the endings in places of inflammation. This contributes to the rapid recovery and regeneration of tissues and muscles.
Instructions for use and dosage
Milgamma injections are effective due to the complex effect of vitamin B on muscle tissue and the analgesic effect of lidocaine. That is why they are prescribed for the acute form of the disease, and tablets are used as maintenance therapy against the background of a stable condition of the patient. This drug is contraindicated in children under 16 years of age.
Injections are done intramuscularly in case of acute pain of 2 ml every day for 5-10 days. If the medicine accidentally enters a vein, the patient must immediately provide medical assistance and prevent negative consequences. After reducing the pain, the number of injections is also reduced - they are made 2-3 times in 7 days or begin to take a complex of vitamins in dragees. In this case, one must be under medical supervision, therefore patients are often recommended inpatient treatment.
Adult Milgamma tablets are taken 1 unit per day, in case of urgent need, the dosage can be increased to 3 units. Dragees do not dissolve, but are swallowed with plenty of water. The course of treatment orally is at least 10 days.
During pregnancy and lactation
A pregnant woman’s body often suffers from a deficiency of vitamins (vitamin deficiency), since it shares all the nutrients with the baby’s body. Women can take vitamin B during pregnancy, but only in the form of tablets and in the allowed dosage - no more than 1.6 mg per day (B6 - up to 2.6 mg). The need for additional vitamins is determined by the attending physician and permits use only in case of acute shortage of substances. Milgamma injections are strictly prohibited for pregnant women. During lactation, the intake of B vitamins is prohibited, since they are able to suppress lactation and can pass through breast milk into the baby's body, causing an overdose.
Interaction with other drugs
The drug often becomes part of therapy for neuralgia, but it is necessary to take into account its features of interaction with other substances:
- Thiamine breaks down in sulfite compounds, and therefore the simultaneous administration of Milgamma with such substances completely level the effect of the former.
- Thiamine cannot be used together with high acidity compounds and reducing compounds (iodides, carbonates, etc.).
- Pyridoxine weakens the effect of Levodopa.
- Lidocaine when used with norepinephrine and epinephrine can adversely affect the work of the heart.
- Cyanocobalamin loses its therapeutic properties when taken together with salts of heavy metals.
When taking Milgamma and other drugs together, their interaction should be taken into account so as not to cause complications.
Contraindications, side effects and overdose
Milgamma is prohibited for children under 16 years of age, pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as patients who have severe intolerance to the components of the substance and heart failure.
Among the side effects of taking the medicine are allergies to the components, dizziness, heart rhythm disturbances, nausea and cramps. In case of an overdose, side effects increase, so you should immediately seek medical help.
Analogs of the complex of vitamins of group B
Multivitamin Milgamma is one of the most famous vitamin complexes, but it does not always suit the patient.
Therefore, doctors can recommend any of its analogues:
- Combilipen solution (similar composition).
- Neuromax.
- Trigamma
- Binavit
- Neurorubin.
- Neurobion (in tablets).
- Neuromultivitis (in tablets).
Replace drugs only after consultation with the attending physician and his approval, since some analogues have serious contraindications.
Milgamma vitamin complex is necessary for patients with neuralgia, due to its high efficiency and speed of exposure to the affected areas of muscle tissue. Despite the pain of injections, its use is necessary for patients to fully restore motor functions.
