Instructions for the use of lapis pencil gives an idea of the properties of the drug, and also explains how to use it and what effect should be expected. This information is for informational purposes only.

What is a lapis pencil?

Lapis pencil is a pharmaceutical product that, as stated in the instructions, has antiseptic, bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties. It is used exclusively externally, helps to heal small wounds, cauterizes erosion and ulcers on the surface of the skin, and also stops bleeding from abrasions and cuts.

Due to another property - the ability to degrade (destroy) the tissue of skin tumors, lapis pencil is used as a means to get rid of papillomas and warts. Its convenient shape in the form of a small narrowed rod allows you to apply the drug in a targeted manner without affecting areas of healthy skin.

Active substance

The main component that determines the effect of a lapis pencil is silver nitrate - a salt formed by metal ions and a base of nitric acid. Dry silver nitrate or lapis has a crystalline structure. The substance is highly soluble in water.

High concentrations of the solution have an astringent, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effect. The substance has a quick bactericidal effect (i.e., it can cause the death of pathogenic microorganisms in a short time) and for a long time prevents re-infection of the wound.

Lapis interacts with cellular proteins, causes their coagulation and cauterizes tissue.Upon contact with the skin, it forms silver albuminate - a black salt. During treatment with a lapis pencil, dark spots appear on the skin at the treatment sites, which eventually disappear along with dead tissue.

The silver salt solution is used in gynecology to cauterize erosion. It is used in the form of lotions for the treatment of weeping eczema and burns, as it promotes tissue scarring and accelerates healing. Lapis is used in otolaryngology. They treat the larynx with chronic laryngitis.

In past decades, this drug has been used to prevent conjunctivitis in newborns. A low concentration liquid was prescribed orally for gastritis and stomach ulcers. Currently, such methods of treatment are considered obsolete, since silver in the form of ions has toxicity, and doctors have more safe and effective modern drugs in their arsenal.

Composition and form of release

One pencil contains 180 mg of silver salt. The composition includes potassium nitrate in an amount of 370 mg, which acts as a filler and preservative.

The alloy of two crystalline salts is produced in the form of a small dense conical lead of a white or slightly grayish hue. The substance is odorless. The top of the pencil narrows and ends with a pointed tip.

The stylus is placed in a plastic case and packed in a cardboard box or plastic bag, with instructions in the attachment.

pharmachologic effect

Lapis pencil is used for cauterizing warts, warts and other small, benign skin formations. The active substance can both act on the cause of the disease and eliminate the consequences.

Silver salt, being a powerful antiseptic, can destroy the cell of the virus that causes the appearance of warts, prevent the spread of infection to other areas of the skin.

In places of processing with a lapis pencil, a chemical burn occurs. The affected tissue dies, exfoliates and descends along with the papillomas.

The silver salt preparation can be used to heal small abrasions, erosions, ulcers and cracks on the surface of the skin. The active substance has an anti-inflammatory effect, cauterizes the edges of the wound, accelerates tissue renewal, and prevents the penetration and spread of infection.

Instructions for use lapis pencil from papillomas and warts

When dry, silver nitrate has no effect. Before use, the pencil must be moistened in cold water. To do this, remove the protective cap and lower the tip of the stylus into the water for a few seconds. It becomes loose and easily spreads on the skin.

The drug is applied only externally, pointwise, directly to the papilloma, ulcer, fissure or wound. They are not recommended to treat large areas of the body, as the product can provoke the appearance of pigmentation or an allergic reaction. For the same reason, they should not treat the skin on the face.

The tool is applied 1-2 times a day. It is recommended to repeat the procedure every 10 days until complete cure. The effectiveness of the pencil is improved in combination with celandine preparations.

With regard to the treatment of papillomas and warts, one should be careful, especially if there are moles next to them.

Only dry formations that rise above the skin are processed with a pencil, without pigmentation, peeling and not causing suspicion.

If the wart:

  • painful
  • bleeding;
  • gets wet;
  • growing fast;
  • changes shape;
  • has pigmentation;
  • itches;
  • peeling off

it should not be disposed of on its own. In all doubtful cases, you should consult a doctor.

Pregnancy and lactation - is it possible?

A lapis pencil, the use of which is possible only externally, is not able to affect the body of a future or nursing mother.At the same time, information on the possibility of its use during pregnancy and lactation is not available in the instructions.

In the United States, preparations containing silver nitrate are not considered drugs. They are freely sold in grocery stores in cosmetics departments. Here and in some European countries, silver nitrate products are distributed through pharmacies and dispensed without a prescription.

At the same time, ingestion of preparations with silver is considered dangerous, since in a certain concentration metal ions have a toxic effect on the body. Therefore, in order to remove all doubts before treatment with a pencil, it is worth consulting a specialist.

Analogs and substitutes

A similar effect has a drug called Tsiarkum. It is a solution containing silver, hydrogen and copper ions. The composition of the product also includes citric acid.

It is applied to the skin in the form of lotions and compresses. The affected area should be treated 1-2 times a day. The duration of the course depends on the severity of the disease.

Among group analogues with a different composition, but with a similar effect, there are drugs:

Use Reviews

More than half of users note the effectiveness of a lapis pencil against warts. Among the pluses, the painlessness of the procedure is distinguished. Among the minuses are the darkening of the treated skin areas and the inability to use a pencil to get rid of papillomas on the face.

Andrey, 42 years old:

“I smeared according to the instructions 2 times a day. By the evening of the first day, the wart darkened. Applied for another 7 days. Dark skin peeled off, the wart remained. It didn’t help me. ”

Katerina, 31 years old:

“I ordered a pencil over the Internet. The box is small - 4.5 cm. The pencil itself without a cap and even less - 2.4 cm. Originally bought to get rid of cracks in the skin of the husband's fingers. For him, this was a real problem in the winter. All creams had only a temporary effect. I could not even believe that a pencil would really help.

Apply in the evening on clean skin for a week. What dried out gradually exfoliated. The old skin peeled off, in its place a new smooth formed, no cracks.

I decided to use a pencil myself. As a result, he brought them a wart on his leg.Although doctors do not recommend touching it on their own, since there is a risk of degeneration of such a defect into something more serious, but it is smeared once. The next day she fell off. A wound formed in its place. I smeared it with ichthyol ointment and everything passed. I didn’t even have to go to the surgeons. ”

Maria, 20 years old:

“I used celandine before, but he only helped temporarily. I bought a lapis pencil from papillomas on the advice of my mother. I must say right away that the wart was reduced for a long time. Smeared once every three days. The skin on top gradually dried out and went off, along with it a wart. So over time, managed to get rid of it. Only a small red speck remains. ”

Medicines, which began in the last century, are gradually leaving the pharmaceutical market. They are replaced with more advanced and effective tools. But the lapis pencil is still in demand. After all, with its help, you can easily and painlessly get rid of warts without resorting to the services of surgeons and cosmetologists.
