The goose is large, and it will take a long time to bake it whole. In addition, it is a fat bird, which is not recommended to be used without a side dish. And this means that the hostess will have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. But there is a way! I propose to cook a goose in pieces in a sleeve with potatoes and prunes - so you get a full dinner without any hassle.
Important! The optimum weight of a carcass suitable for baking is approximately 3.5 kg. A larger bird may turn out to be old, and a smaller one may be dry and sinewy.
- Cooking time: 4 hours.
- Servings Per Container: 10.
Ingredients:
- goose - 1 carcass;
- potatoes - 10 pcs.;
- prunes - 2 glasses;
- mayonnaise - 3 tbsp. l .;
- mustard - 1 tbsp. l .;
- salt to taste.
How to bake a goose in the oven in the sleeve:
- Wash the bird inside and out, pat dry and cut in portions.
- Make marinade - mix mayonnaise with mustard, add a pinch of salt.
- Rub the goose slices with the resulting sauce and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Pour the prunes with boiling water for 15 minutes, then dry and chop with a knife at random.
- Cut peeled potatoes into quarters, mix with dried fruits, salt.
- Put the future side dish in the baking sleeve, distribute the meat over it.
- Tie the bag tightly, place on a baking sheet, with a knife or fork, make a few punctures from above.
- Send the goose in the sleeve with potatoes and dried fruits to the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 1.5-2 hours.
- Cut the bag and let the dish brown for 25 minutes, then remove and serve hot.
Goose slices covered with a golden crust in a “company” with potatoes and prunes soaked in meat juice - a dish worthy of a festive table. Give it a try!
