If you approach the purchase of medicines wisely and replace the expensive anti-diarrheal Enterofuril with analogs, an order of magnitude cheaper than the original, but at the same time not inferior to it in effectiveness, then you can save a lot on buying medicines. Enterofuril is a universal broad-spectrum antidiarrheal drug. It fights pathogenic microflora in the intestines, has a stimulating effect on the body's own immune cells to phagocytosis. Do not forget about rehydration therapy during the treatment of diarrhea. This is necessary to prevent dehydration.

List of Russian analogues in suspension
On the pharmacy shelves, you can easily find Russian analogues cheaper than Enterofuril, but at the same time no less effective. They are presented in the form of a suspension - the form most common in pediatric practice.
As a rule, these suspensions also have a banana flavor and in five milliliters of syrup contain from 200 to 220 ml of the active substance.
The following types of Russian analogues are especially popular on the pharmacological market:
- Mirofuril is an antimicrobial agent, produced in the form of a yellow suspension with a banana odor (the so-called intestinal antiseptic). It is used to treat acute bacterial diarrhea. Mirofuril is an over-the-counter drug sold by pharmacies. This tool is prohibited for use by infants under the age of 1 month, premature babies and women during pregnancy. It must be borne in mind that 1% ethanol and sucrose are part of the suspension.
- Stopdiar is an antidiarrheal antimicrobial drug, also available in the form of a suspension with a banana flavor. The active substance is nifuroxazide. The effectiveness of the drug is high, the result from the reception is almost instant.
- Ecofuril, produced in the form of a suspension, is a unique modern drug for the treatment of diarrhea, which in addition to nifuroxazide also contains the prebiotic lactulose, which helps the growth of beneficial intestinal microflora even after taking the drug.
Enterofuril substitutes of domestic production, produced in capsules, are not inferior to these funds in efficiency and popularity.
Domestic substitutes in capsules
- Ercefuril is a drug prescribed for acute diarrhea arising from exposure to pathogenic bacteria on the body. The product is prohibited for use by children under 3 years of age.A distinctive feature of Ersefuril is its ability to restore eubiosis, that is, the quantitative and qualitative composition of human microflora. Eubiosis is the exact opposite of dysbiosis. Also, taking this drug triggers a mechanism for the prevention of bacterial complications.
- Sulgin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent prescribed for the treatment of bacterial dysentery, colitis, and indigestion.
- Nifural is an intestinal antiseptic used for the treatment of acute diarrhea of bacterial origin. It is not prescribed when joining helminthic invasion.
- Adisord is a more budgetary version of the Russian-made Enterofuril substitute. It is prescribed for acute bacterial diarrhea, which occurs without a history of parasitic disease, that is, without penetration of parasites into the body.
These medicines act as complete analogues of the drug. However, there are also substitutes having similar properties and action with Enterofuril.
Drugs similar in pharmacological properties
- Enterol (Saccharomycetes Bulardi) is an antidiarrheal agent. The drug not only eliminates the symptoms of diarrhea of any etiology, but also affects the cause of the disorder, being active against a wide range of pathogens, neutralizes their toxins, helps restore intestinal microflora and reduces the duration of diarrhea.
- Furazolidone is an inexpensive antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent derived from nitrofurans.
- Imodium is an antidiarrheal agent that normalizes the intestines. Quickly and gently relieves the symptoms of acute diarrhea. The action of Imodium is to restore the balance between peristalsis, secretion and absorption, which is necessary for the normal functioning of the intestine. It is an effective way to eliminate the symptoms of acute diarrhea.
Imodium's actions:
- slows intestinal motility;
- reduces increased fluid secretion;
- Helps prevent fecal incontinence
- the effect occurs within an hour after administration.
For an accurate diagnosis, finding the cause of diarrhea, effective treatment and prevention of relapse, it is necessary to consult a specialist in a timely manner. Only he will help find the cause of the disease and prescribe the right drug that will treat, and not just eliminate the symptoms of the disease.
