Sharp pain in the epigastric region after eating can be a sign of peptic ulcer. You can cope with the symptoms of the disease only by destroying the pathogen - the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. For this purpose, the anti-ulcer drug De-Nol successfully copes. Take it is allowed only on the recommendation of a gastroenterologist. It is worth remembering that De-Nol has side effects, like any medical device.

The bismuth preparation protects the stomach (mucous membrane) from damaging agents, and promotes rapid healing. And thanks to the antimicrobial effect on H. pylori, the active component eliminates the cause of ulcerative lesions.
Excipients:
- potassium polyacrylate;
- corn starch;
- hypromellose;
- potassium stearic acid;
- macrogol-6000;
- crospovidone.
De-Nol is produced in tablet form. The tablets are round, convex on both sides. Color white with cream. They are odorless (sometimes they may have a slight ammonia aroma).
Side effects and contraindications De Nol
The antiulcer drug has some specific actions, as a result of which it is not recommended for use in certain groups of patients.
IMPORTANT! If the patient has gastritis, ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, and he has contraindications for taking bismuth-containing drugs, then taking this medicine is categorically not recommended. Bismuth-containing drugs can not only cause unpleasant phenomena (allergies, intolerance symptoms), but also provoke health complications.
- nausea, vomiting, dyspeptic disorders (bloating, flatulence), a taste of metal in the mouth;
- general weakness, apathy, dizziness;
- in some cases, the surface of the tongue may change color;
- discoloration of feces (bowel movements become dark, sometimes black);
- hypersensitivity reactions of type I (rashes, flushing of the skin, itching, burning, swelling of the mucous membranes).
High doses of bismuth have a negative effect on central NS. With prolonged use of high doses of the drug, there are:
- joint pain;
- nephropathy;
- gingivitis;
- encephalopathy.
For adults
Patients are contraindicated in such cases:
- idiosyncrasy (individual bismuth intolerance) or hypersensitivity reaction to drug components;
- when taking other medicines containing bismuth;
- with severe renal dysfunction (renal failure in the stage of decompensation).
IMPORTANT! Reception of De Nol without the recommendation of a specialist is contraindicated. Self-medication can lead to damage to the central nervous system and kidneys.
During pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated in women during the period of bearing a child. Bismuth metabolites are able to penetrate the placental barrier, causing irreversible effects in the body of the child. The tool is able to provoke congenital malformations and mutations of the child's body.
During breastfeeding, it is also recommended to refuse to take De-Nol. Bismuth metabolites pass into breast milk and are passed into the baby’s body. If taking the drug is vital, then lactation is recommended to stop lactation during therapy.
For children
In childhood, the medicine is contraindicated up to 4 years. In the future, De-Nol tablets are prescribed in strict doses, depending on the age of the babies. An overdose for a child's body is more fatal, therefore the dosage of the drug is prescribed only by a gastroenterologist.
Possible consequences of taking with alcohol
The simultaneous use of bismuth and alcohol is contraindicated. Ethanol enhances the toxic effects of bismuth metabolites. While taking the medicine with alcohol, a pathological reaction occurs that contributes to the destruction of the mucous membranes of the digestive tract. Frequent combination of De-Nol with alcohol leads to an even greater ulceration of the gastrointestinal mucosa.
IMPORTANT! When drinking alcohol during anti-ulcer therapy, the risk of developing side effects and poor health increases.
Instructions for use
Take the drug dosed, in several doses per day. The tablets are swallowed whole, washed down with water. There is no need to grind or chew a tablet.
IMPORTANT! You can not drink the medicine with juices, tea, milk and other drinks. They reduce the effectiveness of the antiulcer drug.
It is necessary to take De-Nol according to the dosages:
- children 4-8 years old - 4 mg per 1 kg of body weight. This is a daily dose;
- children 8-12 years old - 120 mg (1 tablet) 2 times a day;
- children over 12 years old and adult patients take 480 mg (4 tablets) per day.
Doctors recommend 2 medication regimens for adults:
- 120 mg in the morning, at lunch and in the evening (30 minutes before meals) and 120 mg before bedtime.
- In the morning and evening, 240 mg (2 tablets), 30 minutes before a meal.
Reception of De Nol should not last more than 60 days. Long-term therapy with bismuth-containing drugs causes damage to the central nervous system and the development of a number of adverse reactions.
